A Human-Directed, AI-Written Book
8020 Living was conceptualized by a human working together with ChatGPT - the idea, the scope, and the full table of contents were shaped in that early collaboration. From there, the book was written and refined through multiple iterations by different AI models working inside Cursor, with a human directing every stage, setting the requirements, and judging the results.
The Iterations
- First draft: the initial version of the book was written with Claude Sonnet 3.7.
- Expansion: it was then upgraded and expanded with new chapters using ChatGPT 5.4.
- Full rewrite: the entire book was reviewed and completely rewritten with Claude Sonnet 5.
- Review and targeted upgrades: it was reviewed again with ChatGPT 5.5 and partly upgraded, based on human requirements.
- Another upgrade pass: a further round of improvements followed with Claude Sonnet 5.
- Fact checking and polish: final fact checking and polishing were done with Claude Fable 5.
Why Multiple Models
This book was generated using multiple AI models, each playing a different role in researching, writing, reviewing, fact checking, and otherwise quality controlling its chapters. Relying on several models rather than just one makes the book less likely to suffer from the AI hallucinations that are more common when a single model handles everything on its own - each model reviews and challenges the work of the others, with a human making the final call.
